Autosorb-6B Operation from Set-Up to Printouts

| Operation |
The state-of-the-art engineering and the advanced Windows®/Win95 data reduction software clearly demonstrate the dynamic nature of the technical developments incorporated in the Autosorb-6B.
|
| Set-Up |
Only two physical actions are needed before starting an analysis: filling the dewar flasks with coolant and attaching the sample cells:
Each dewar flask has a handle and rests below all glassware. This makes the flasks easy to lift off of the elevator platforms for filling and cleaning... plus it protects the instrument from spills. The level of filling is not critical. When the flask is elevated, a sensor locates the liquid level. The instrument then maintains a constant sample cold zone throughout the 60 hour life of the dewar. Subtle variances such as drift in baseline or desorption crossover are eliminated. Accuracy and reproducibility are optimal.
|
| Start |
Beginning an analysis requires only a few keystrokes. The analysis parameter file is recalled. The weight, name and description of each sample is entered. The process is started.
The creation of a new parameter file takes less than a minute.
After the parameters are sent to the microcomputer in the Autosorb-6B, the personal computer is free for other uses. The status of valves, dewar bath, pressure and vacuum for all stations is displayed on the instrument panel.
Optionally, you can leave the computer on-line. This allows you to view the information being returned by the Autosorb-6B or to start other measurements.
|
| Run |
All samples are analyzed without user intervention. Each sample runs simultaneously and independently... like they were on separate analyzers.
|
| End |
A special convenience feature initiates the printing of a multi-point B.E.T. report before the completion of the programmed adsorption and desorption isotherms. Upon completion, other features (a) automatically name and save the results to disk and (b) print out all of the user preselected data reduction tables and associated graphs - in color - for all the desired data reduction methods.
